Agency fees were 42% higher in 2019 than in 2010, according to data collected by Strike.
London noted the greatest estate agency fees at £6,573. This was followed by Birmingham at £5,622 and Southampton at £5,481.
Overall, the average estate agency fee across the UK is £4,779.

The data shows that millennials on average pay the greatest agency fees, with a fifth charged over £10,000.
Additionally, the report outlined that men pay on average 19% more than women, with the monitory gap reaching £820.
Moreover, the survey shows that 58% of the 1,000 respondents outlined that the estate agency fees were higher than they had expected.
Despite the high fees, 44% of UK sellers noted they were unhappy with the service provided by estate agents.
