Savills is conducting an investigation after a social media account allegedly belonging to one of its employees tweeted racist tweets following England’s exit from the Euro 2020 Championship.

The account, which allegedly belongs to Andrew Bone a commercial building manager at Savills in Manchester, tweeted racist comments aimed at the black English players who missed their penalties during the shoot-out last night.

Italy won the European Championship for the second time by beating England 3-2 on penalties on Sunday, following Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka missing their shots.

The Twitter account has now been closed down after fellow users voiced their disgust and outrage at the tweet which in turn lead to Savills trending on Twitter in the UK.

In response Savills Tweeted:

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has also condemned the tweets whilst confirming the alleged individual is not a member of the institute.
