Connect Mortgages has been named the winner of this year’s Precise Mortgages’ Great Special-iced Bake competition.

After two weeks of intense activity in the kitchen, Connect Mortgages’ showstopper received the most LinkedIn likes out of all the entries which were based on a specialist lending theme.

Eighteen corporate account teams battled for the coveted Bake 2021 Champion title, with the entrants uploading pictures and videos of their show stoppers to LinkedIn.

Connect Mortgages was named as the winner after receiving 690 likes for their three-tiered star bake. Overall, the competition garnered over 3,200 reactions and more than 560 comments as users joined in with the fun at #TheGreatSpecialicedBake2021.

Connect Mortgages was presented with a £1,000 cheque for their efforts which they will donate to Indee Rose Trust, a national charity that supports children who have been diagnosed with brain or spinal tumours. Precise Mortgages will also donate £1,000 to their chosen charity, CALM.

Liza Campion, Precise Mortgages’ head of corporate accounts, said: “A massive thank you to everyone who has taken the time out of their busy schedules to enter. The time and effort they’ve put in to their bakes has been outstanding. We’ve seen some real culinary creativity.

“Congratulations to the team at Connect Mortgages on their inventive entry which not only included a miniature suited and booted Roger Morris, but also featured a vegan tier to highlight the tailored solutions they offer to meet customers’ different needs. They’re a deserved winner after being named runners-up in our first bake competition back in 2019.”

Liz Simms, managing director at Connect Mortgages, added: “We’re absolutely chuffed to win this prestigious and fantastically fun bake off! Our star baker Tracey Robinson did an amazing job on behalf of the Connect Mortgages’ team, and we all loved our mini Roger!

“We’re also pleased to help play a part in helping to raise £2,000 in total for two great charities – CALM and the amazing Indee Rose Trust.”
